Alkaline to make first performance in VI
The Jamaican dancehall artiste, who has a huge following but a fair amount of critics as well, will be performing on Saturday July 11, 2015 at Myett’s Beachfront in Cane Garden Bay at an event dubbed Summer Glow.
“Five Star Promotions is committed to giving the BVI regular international entertainment and to kick off the summer, our team has partnered with Myett’s to organise another event entitled Summer Glow,” said Marketing Director of Five Star Promotions, Ms Jehree D. Clarke.
According to Ms Clarke, Five Star Promotions is credited for several high level promotions which were well received by local and tourists alike. Among the entertainers Five Star Promotions has brought to the VI are Spice, Ghost, Rock City and most recently Popcaan. “For this show we are bringing to you the hottest dancehall artist right now, for the first time ever in the British Virgin Islands, Alkaline!” she told Virgin Islands News Online.
Alkaline hits!
Alkaline is known for hits such as “Move Mountains”, “123”, “Things Mi Love”, “Gyal Bruk Out”, “Live Life”, “On & On”, “Gone Away”, “Wifey”, “Wah We Ah Go Do”, “How It Feel”, “A Bagga Tings” and “Ride On Me”.
“As it’s a glow party, we are expecting everyone to wear white clothing to ensure that everyone is glowing on the night and it’s on the beach as well, so dress comfortably,” Ms Clarke advised.
The event will also include entertainment by some of the hottest local disc jockeys and bands such as DJ Dre, DJ Kuga, Ah Milli Soundz and the reigning Road March Champions, VIBE.
Ms Clarke added, “We would like to thank Myett’s for partnering with us and allowing us to use their beachfront which allows the event to be more accommodating. The entrance will be through Myett’s and the bars will also be operated by Myett’s. We would like to thank our sponsors, TICO in conjunction with Absolut, Johnny Walker Black, Red Stripe and Red Bull, as well as Caribbean Insurers Ltd., OneMart Superstore, Sol BVI, Tola Radio VI and Caribbean Broadcasting Network (CBN).”
Tickets for Summer Glow are already on sale at Hazem’s. Persons can also call (284) 540-3000 for further information.
