Albion & Stingers win SCBBC MLK Jr Basketball Classic

SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI- Two games were played in the Sea Cows Bay Basketball Club’s Martin Luther King Jr Classic at the Sea Cows Bay Basketball Court, Tortola, on January 20, 2018 and Albion and Stingers came out triumphant.

In the opening game, in the 13-15 age category, Albion staved off the strong challenge of Hannah’s, winning 25-22, with Most Valuable Player (MVP) Ernest Jacobs Jr top scoring for Albion with 11 points, and also had 2 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 assists.

Aaron Williams Jr supported with 7 points and 10 rebounds and Shae'quon Sprauve 4 points.

For Hannah's, Amarlee Glasgow had a game high 14 points.

Stingers too hot for Riddim Boys

Kymal Panchoo then sunk a game high 18 points as Stingers overcame Riddim Boys 43-39 in the 16-18 age group game.

Panchoo, who was later named MVP, also had 3 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 assist. He was ably assisted by Aaron Williams Jr, who contributed 12 points, and Shaequon Spruave, who had 8 points.

Ryan Adams, with 10 points, 5 rebounds, 1 steal, 2 blocks, was the top performer for Riddim Boys.

Adrian Taylor ended with 8 points, while Shammah Tittle had 7.

The tournament was organised by the Sea Cows Bay Basketball Club (SCBBC) spearheaded by Mr Milton C. McLean.

    for keeping our youths occupied Mr McLean in a rightful way. Make sure there is a league for girls also or combine them with the boys league. Dont mind the blah blah blah.you doing good and good gonna follow you

    On the other hand I hope he will consider naming one of his leagues after one of our local heroes
    Lavity, Noel Lloyd, or any other national figures
