Airport terminal on VG broken into & ransacked

- attempts allegedly made to pry safe open

TADDY BAY, Virgin Gorda, VI- The Taddy Bay Airport terminal on Virgin Gorda was broken into, reportedly at the weekend; however, nothing was reported stolen, according to initial information reaching our newsroom.

Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) was told by sources close to the situation that an airport worker on Monday, March 15, 2021, opened the main door to the departure area and noticed it was ransacked.

Further investigations revealed that a safe was removed from its fixed location and there was evidence that attempts were made to pry the safe open.

No money was reportedly left inside the office area where the safe was kept.

It was also observed that the rear door of the building was unlocked.

Investigations are said to be ongoing.
