ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Students are among patients at Peebles Hospital with one of them currently undergoing surgery for a broken leg following this morning’s April 26, 2012 accident on the Great Mountain Road.

Eight persons are confirmed to have been involved in the accident this morning involving an SUV and a car with the eight injured belonging to the jeep which according to eye-witness report, reportedly lost control coming down the hill which resulted in the SUV hitting a car, and a tree.

According to hospital sources, one of the students is currently undergoing surgery for a broken leg, another student also suffered a broken leg, another with a broken hand and another with a broken nose.

A baby was also involved in the accident, but sources say the infant did not likely suffer from any injuries while the driver of the SVU escaped unscathed.

Eyewitnesses on the scene claimed that the jeep was on its way down the Great Mountain road when it seemed to have lost control, ran into the car on its left side, then into a tree, ended up in the road blocking the early morning traffic.

Driver of the car, Rodel Reblora told this news site that while driving this morning around 7:45 a.m., alone, he saw the Durango Jeep coming down the hill out of control, after seeing this he said he stopped and the jeep swerved on to his side and hit him.

“My car was badly damaged but the Durango Jeep was a total wreck,” Reblora said.

Reblora also revealed that eight persons were in the jeep including a baby.

Another eyewitness informed this media house that along with the male driver, who was suspected to be a man called "Simba” he was travelling with a female and five minors.

The Police are continuing their investigations.

Yes. She is doing well. Although she may bruises and broken bones, she recognises that God protected them from something that could be much worse. So keep praying for her and you will soon see her smiling face again.
