3 shot; 2 dead in St Croix, USVI

CHRISTIANSTED, St Croix, USVI — Multiple gunshots rang out on the afternoon of March 28, 2016 at the Watergut Shanty in Christiansted, St Croix, US Virgin Islands near the David Hamilton Jackson Housing Community, also known as Red Brick, leaving two men dead and one hospitalised.

The information was confirmed by The Consortium and corroborated by US Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) Commissioner Delroy Richards.

The incident occurred at about 5:20 p.m., and officers immediately descended on the area, which was swarmed with residents of the neighboring housing communities.

Mr Richards said preliminary information received revealed that the suspect was sitting in his vehicle, and suddenly got out and opened fired on the victims, who were playing dominoes. The assailant, according to an eyewitness, fled the area through Red Brick.

Mr Richards said police have a lead on the suspect, and an active search is underway.

A Consortium reporter witnessed emergency medical technicians examining the two victims for signs of life, however none was found. Multiple officers were also in the area investigating the crime scene, while others hustled westward in search of the assailant.

      Truth is truth and so is prejudice..these Islands have always experienced the cannibalistic behaviour of the island people Santos and Puerto Ricans and for that reason ,they are detested.
