The featured race of the day will be race six, the second leg of the VI Triple Tiara – a seven and a half furlongs race for Mares and Fillies and competing in this race will be Holy Barbara out of St Croix, Mae Ruler, Stephen Got Better and All About Faith. The purse for this race is $7,000.

The final race for the day will be the One Mile Open Liberty Classic for a purse of $5,000 and competing in this race will be Apollo Sky from Tortola and Break Up The Game. Trading Secrets should have been in this race but owner Mr. Alex V. Lake of Family Affair Stables informed this news site that the timing was not right for him.

“It has nothing to do with the horse,” he said. “I changed my mind; I didn’t bother to go through all that trouble. It is personal reasons, not reasons to do with the horse,” he said. “The timing became a little bad for me so I told them I can’t do it again,” he said. “It is me…I don’t have the time or the manpower to do it,” Lake said.

Mr. Lesmore Smith of the Virgin Islands Horse Owners’ Association confirmed that there were horses travelling from Tortola to take part in the race.

Speaking to this news site Race Secretary of the St. Thomas Horse Racing Association Mr. Kareem ‘Pogo’ Thompson said that there will be a total of 27 horses competing in the races and six of them are from Tortola and five from St. Croix. It was later learnt that Trading Secrets would not be competing.

He said that the action starts promptly at 2:00 pm and there will be a range of entertainment on offer.

“This is the second leg of the VI Triple Tiara and so the prize will be $7,000 plus the fees to enter,” he said.
