ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Tortola resident, Mrs Fayola Douglas-Browne was ecstatic when she received the call from a CIBC FirstCaribbean representative to advise her that she was the winner of the $2,500 grand prize of the bank’s “All I want for Christmas” promotional campaign.

This is according to a press release dated Thursday, February 14, 2019, from CIBC FirstCaribbean which stated that Mrs Douglas-Browne, who is a long-time customer of CIBC FirstCaribbean, explained that she was taken by surprise as she had never won anything before and the timing of the win was impeccable.

“I couldn’t stop screaming when I heard the news,” she said. “The windfall is perfect timing as I will be able to use the money to complete the construction of my home on the eastern side of Tortola. We had just completed laying the foundation and the cistern for the property when Hurricane Irma hit.

We lost all the building materials that were on site and we had to restock everything apart from the steel. We are now nearing completion and this money will come in extra handy to finish the property. We are hoping to move into it in a month or so. 2019 certainly is starting out as a very good year for me!”

While she occasionally uses the services of another bank, Mrs Douglas-Browne said that she has always held her main account with CIBC FirstCaribbean and conducts all her transactions through the services offered.

“I have always been very pleased with my choice,” she said. “I really like the internet banking option that’s offered and I’ve always found the customer service to be good when I do come into the bank. They are the best as far as I am concerned.”

Mrs Etma Penn, Customer Services Manager for CIBC FirstCaribbean was on hand to congratulate Mrs Douglas-Browne on her win. “I am very happy that the promotion has provided you with funds to help complete your project. It also is very encouraging to hear your comments on the bank and we thank you for your loyalty and for your endorsement of our services,” she said.

The “All I want for Christmas” promotion ran from November 5 – December 31, 2018, and was valid for eligible holders of FirstCaribbean Visa Classic / Cashback and Visa Gold credit cards, Visa Debit Classic and Visa Debit Platinum cards spending more than $50 on any one transaction. The campaign which also ran in 11 other regional islands, identified winners through random selection.
