2019 VI Cycling action to kick off in February

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - The 2019 cycling season in the Virgin Islands (VI) will start on February 3, 2019 with a 2.5 Miles long prologue that will start at the Benjamin A. Romney Park.

Following that, the BVI Cycling Foundation (BVICF) will host the Election Classic Bicycle Race on February 17, 2019, at 1:00pm for both road and mountain bikes and that is expected to feature competition from across the region including countries like Antigua, Anguilla and Haiti.

The mountain bike course will also start at the Benjamin A. Romney Park and take a course that will traverse areas including Steele Point, Zion Hill and Cox Heath before returning to the finish line.

Motorist take note – BVICF

The federations asking the motoring public to take note of the event as it is expected to last for about three and a half hours. 

The event will be sponsored by RiteWay Food Markets, National Bank of the Virgin Islands and the BVI Olympic Committee with registration for the first event set at $10 for general and $5 for members.
