2 vehicles damaged by fire in separate incidents

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Two vehicles caught on fire today April 18, 2017 at separate locations on the main island of Tortola.

The first vehicle fire occurred just before 9:00 PM in Belmont Estate.

According to reports, the vehicle was badly damaged even though fire fighters were summoned.

"We received the call for the vehicle fire at Belmont Estate at 8:58 AM, Chief Fire Officer Zebalon A. McLean told this news site.

Meanwhile, the second vehicle fire occurred at Long Trench around 11:00 PM.

Fire fighers were also called in and prevented the vehicle from being totally destroyed, according to reports.

It is not clear to this news site at this time what caused the two vehicles to catch afire.

    Don't understand... this seems to be a common thing in the BVI. Overheated? I know a few years ago a friend just came from the "wannabe" mechanic and his car caught on fire going up the hill. Unfortunately, mechanic still in business and didn't pay a dime. Nor the insurance company.
