BEEF ISLAND, VI- A fire that started in the wee hours of July 1, 2020, resulted in the destruction of two trucks, a generator and a storeroom at Minine’s Plants on Beef Island.

According to reports reaching our newsroom, the fire occurred sometime around 3:00 am and that the blaze was seen shortly after a loud explosion was heard.

One of the owners of the property, on investigating, reportedly noticed a storeroom on fire and attempted to extinguish the blaze but the pump for the sextant malfunctioned.

The storeroom, which was built from containers, galvanized zinc sheets and board, was destroyed.

Also destroyed by the fire was a white Hyundai Dump truck, a white Kia Motor truck and a generator.

Other items such as tools, tires, bricks, container and plants were also affected.
