PORT PURCELL, Tortola, VI- A familiar scene in the territory, there was a road accident involving motor scooters in the Port Purcell area of Tortola, today, June 8, 2017.

Information is sketchy but, according to reports reaching our newsroom, the accident, involving two motor scooters, occurred sometime before noon on the western carriageway of the James Walter Francis Drive.

It is not clear if there were any injuries or whether any other vehicle was involved.

No fatal accident West End

Meanwhile, there is a photo circulating on social media of a man lying on the side of the road with a vehicle, which appears to have damages, in the background.

Our newsroom can confirm this is a hoax.

Our investigation revealed this prank was played since 2012 and there is also a video of it on Youtube.

    Two goofballs racing down the centre line, trying to pass through the roundabout between cars on either side. No helmets to be seen as well.
