PARAQUITA BAY, Tortola, VI- At least two persons were taken to Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital following a lone-vehicle accident at Paraquita Bay, last night, October 18, 2020.

According to reports reaching Virgin Islands News Online (VINO), the driver of a white Audi (license plate PY 1110) vehicle lost control of the automobile and struck a utility pole belonging to BVI Electricity Corporation (BVIEC).

The electric pole fell on the hood of the vehicle and power in the area was also affected.

The vehicle appeared to have sustained major frontal damages.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has since confirmed the incident.

“The RVIPF can confirm a report of an accident in the Paraquita Bay area last night at approximately 10:42 pm. Details surrounding the accident are unclear. Investigations are ongoing,” the RVIPF stated today, October 19, 2020.

      It’s a A7 V6, not that much power, bad driving and oversized wheels with low profile caused that accident, style will kill you for being foolish

    Drivers believe that the machine is an extension of their thoughts. That it will stop when they want it too. That it won't slide, that it won't swerve, that it won't flip, that it has magical powers to overtake around corners without consequence.

    Some fool was trying to overtake me coming to a corner and when he saw the opposite approaching TRUCK, he frantically blew his horn for me to slow down so he could squeeze past. His car could not accelerate fast enough so he braked hard so he would not end up like a pancake. Lucky for him that truck had brakes too.
