Griffin, in speaking with this news site from his office in the USA on Thursday May 21, 2015 told this news site that he is excited about the role he is playing in the elimination round of the talent promotion. He said he will be part of the team of judges who will be screening some 17 aspiring artistes.

For Griffin, being on the local scene here in the VI this weekend means much to him as he eagerly anticipates the sun, fine beaches, the warmth and hospitality of the people and evenly Poker Run. “This is going to be my first experience. Friends and Craig (Craig A. Lake) have been telling me about this Poker Run and I am most excited to come and experience it. It’s not what I think of about the Poker game... I understand this has to do a lot with boats so I am looking forward to this weekend treat of my life,” he said.

Organiser of the promotion, Mr Craig A. Lake explained that this year they have decided to do the elimination round as an indoor activity to be held Saturday morning, May 23, 2015 at the upper floor of UPs Cineplex. “It’s going to be a closed audition because we are actually looking for the first six who are going to be taking part in the finals. So Kelly G is going to be here and he is going to be part of the judging team.”

In addition to Kelly G’s involvement in the competition this year, Mr Lake tipped to this news site that for the finals that is scheduled for July, international music entertainer Sevyn Streeter will be on island to provide entertainment. “So she is going to be here on July 11, that’s the date for the finals and you know she is going to be here performing in concert along with the six young artists on stage,” said Mr Lake.
