16-year-old assaults, injures mother with 'fake gun'

EAST END, Tortola, VI - A distraught mother was forced to deliver her 16-year-old son into the hands of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) after he reportedly injured her with a 'fake gun'.

According to reports reaching Virgin Islands News Online (VINO), while at their Greenland, Tortola home sometime last evening May 29, 2020, the mother noticed her 16-year-old and 9-year-old sons engaged in a fight.

Observing that the older brother was badly beating the younger one, she stepped in to part the fight.

Angry at the mother's intervention, the 16-year-old then reportedly turned on her and a fight between the two ensued.

Sometime during the ordeal, the teenager then took up a fake gun and hurled it at the mother, hitting her in the forehead and causing a large open wound.

Unable to subdue the young man, the police were called in by the mother and following investigations, the 16-year-old was taken into custody.

He was reportedly charged for Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm and will appear in court.

    These little demons are out of hand. Some parents are trying so hard with their children and some parents are allowing their children to do as they please(I'm not saying this is the case here) I know it's even more hard for single parents especially single mothers raising boys. I know a man in his late 60's with a 14 yr old son that he allows to sit around all day online, the son does nothing in the apartment except eat. I tired tell the elderly man that he needs to discipline him, but he refused and only wants to complain to anyone who will listen.

      Some of these parents are to blame for their kids behavior if your 16 years old could raise his voice or hands at you something is wrong. He lil behind would’ve been stumped

      Children don't act out for no reason. She should have the boy examine by a psychiatrist. Sometimes it is also things that happen to children that manifest in this way too. Tortola has quite a few creeps.

    Hello my 1and only child is a boy now he is 36yrs .when he was 17 I asked him to do the dishes. when to work came back people he did not wash the damn dishes I asked why he shout at me saying I will do it i am watching TV people the he shouts at me I give him 1kick through the door he fly down the stairs like alighten from that day he never messed with me again .break the tree when it is young

    Remember the case when the mother broke her sons phone and she had to go court for that. What else u expect if the law was on his side. The children are reading and listening the same way we do. I just had a conversation with my three after reading this to warn them. I would have been the one that the police was taking to jail. No child going raise his or her hand to me after all those Labour pains, the sacrifices and all that money spent just to give them a good living. Hell no.

It's your responsibility once you bring a child into this world to clothe, shelter and protect him/her without making that child feel a sense of guilt. I just hate these stupid comments typed by ignorant minds. Instill good sense of values in your child from the day he is born, teach him how to respect himself and others around. Too many times when they are babies/toddlers we let them get away with murder, not correcting them, and expect them to behave differently as they grow to be teenagers and adults. (I'm not saying this is the case here, cause I don't know the home situation of this young man and I'm not being judgmental). And one last thing, you "brought him into the world and will cancel him out," well guess what, nine members of society will see to it you spend the rest of your miserable life behind bars.
