BRANDYWINE BAY, Tortola, VI- Information reaching our newsroom is that at least five 12th Grade students of the Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS) were injured in an accident at Brandywine Bay this afternoon, February 2, 2017.

According to reports, the vehicle transporting the students from the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College was heading west in the direction of Road Town when the incident occurred.

According to a student involved in the accident, the driver stopped the vehicle suddenly causing her to hit against a metal pole in the vehicle. She, along with others, was taken to Peebles Hospital.

I hope they are all safe because their blood will be on Myron's hands because of his unplanned 6th form implementation.

And if they were not in 6th form but were college students, going to college on a bus, got into an accident, who would you blame, the parents? These kinds of ignoramus comments just get me so annoyed..

This was always one of my concerns when I heard these students would be bussed up to HLSCC & back daily due to the buildings not being built because of no money.

Are all of these children resident in road town where they can walk to school. They drive every day and anything could happen. People stop suddenly all the time.

You sound so ignorant for an adult! What does that have to do with the accident? It could have been a bus carrying another set of kids from another school. Open your eyes and see progress, where there is progress!

Excuse me for trying to make sense out of this. If these drivers were not going so fast and tailgating, you would have plenty of time to stop and avoid crashes. They never learn. Even if a car stopped short, why was the driver so close that they couldn't stop. I see it everyday and I am sick of it! have to drive with my heart in my throat because of these idiots.

Do you drive? What you are saying is not at all accurate. One could have to stop suddenly for a number of reasons. A goat ran accross the road the other day just as I was passing an area in hodges creek and I had to break suddenly. People cut infront of others on the road and those affected have to break suddenly.

You are one lucky driver if you have never had to break suddenly before. Things run accross the road all the time and to avoid hitting them, the natural reflection is to break (sometime even if the animal gets hit in the process)

Same old story. Crack down on bad /illegal driving as cars/bikes on island grow, or have more accidents. Tailgateing, speeding, passing where should not, driving without lights at night. going through stop signs/lights etc. etc. etc. .......

Accidents Happen, whether the student were in 12th grade or not, dont children from lower grades ride a bus to and from West End and East End etc? I would actually commend the driver for avoiding the accident providing he wasn't lasping at the wheel.
