10-year-old donates to FSN
Ahijah participated in this year’s annual Prince and Princess Show as contestant #4. She won Best Dancer for opening number, Best Ambassadorial Speech, Congeniality and Best Evening Wear. Ahijah is a student of Cedar International School and will begin the new school term in 5th grade.
Two days ago, she managed to bring a dream to reality when she donated a quantity of items to FSN. This was not an initiative that was inspired by the recent public cry of the organisation for help after running out of supplies.
“I wanted to do a food drive before the pageant but time did not permit it. So I am happy and excited that I could still contribute to the Family Support Network,” Ahijah told this news site last evening, August 16, 2016.
VI full of loving & caring people
She further said she wishes the VI community would assist FSN more.
In her little voice she added, “Dr [Sylvia M.] Simmonds should not have to ask for anything because the BVI is full of loving and caring people.”
“It's important to give to the families that need things for everyday life that cannot afford them because not every parent has a job,” she said.
Some of the items donated were purchased and some were donated by her mother Jody Miller. Items donated included clothes, shoes, toilet paper, baby pampers, and food supplies such as tuna, rice, flour and other items.
Ahijah plans to do more for FSN, including a donation drive through her school.

Some people like lime light and some don't, its that simple, but there is nothing wrong with either!
When people see others donating it also prompt them to donate as well so the media posting stuff like this those HELP!
Because of your shallow thinking, you would only see the negative!
I bet my last dollar not even a bag of sugar you donated though!
I guess the young man who was donating to the hospital all the time and it was also in the news, that was a bad thing for you right ??!!
You are the one that is SICKENING! #HATER
Wow is right.
It's disheartening to see people so negative. Can't you just commend the child for helping?
This is the age to teach them about community service and service to humanity. Pageant or no pageant, please compliment the little child or jog on.
And while at it, donate an item or two to Family Support Network. Ahijah is right, such an organization shouldn't have to beg!
Thanks VINO for giving her a spot on your news site
