HAVER’S ESTATE, Tortola, VI – Mr Darryl Flanders, one of the victims involved in an early morning accident at Haver’s Estate on Tuesday September 24, 2013 said he is most grateful to God for his spared life and wishes to thank all those persons who lifted him up in prayers.

The young man was the lone occupant of the one vehicle that was severely damaged during the triple vehicle accident that occurred sometime around 8 A.M. at Haver’s Estate.

Unable to recollect exactly what resulted in the accident, Mr Flanders said the mercies of God and prayers are responsible for him being alive or out of any serious danger and with all his limbs in place.

Mr Flanders was treated for multiple bruises about the body and sent home from the Peebles Hospital the same day of the accident. “Yes I am doing ok, thanks to God and for those persons who were praying for me,” he told Virgin Islands News Online in an exclusive interview.

He admitted he is still feeling some amount of pain in the area of his back and other parts of his body but is sure those would subside with healing time.

Asked about the other person that was also rushed to Peebles Hospital, Mr Flanders confirmed it was a female who was the occupant of another vehicle. He said while he was informed she too was treated and sent home the same day, he was not sure of her condition.

“I don’t really know of her condition but I will be trying to get her to see how she is doing,” said Mr Flanders.

I wonder What/Who has you breathing those breaths your taking while reading this. Are you tasting that breath? Feels nice doesn't it? Bet you cant hold your breath for too long without wanting for more?.... try... lets see.
People like yourself were foretold of in the multiple century year old book that you don't believe in. Your starring in that book,.... even before Revelations, and don't even realize it. Your too busy enjoying that oxygen though, to busy to have intellectual personal thoughts. Dont worry, go on have some more,.... be a little more grateful in the future while your at it.
Fact: You take a breath on average 86,400 times per day. If you don’t take 300 of those breaths, irreversible brain damage, or death will result.
Try it if you like Superman. Go without 300 breaths (five minutes). If you get five minutes, take a day off and try 6, then 7.

Guessing its a combination of stopping without warning, lack of indicating (and using mirrors), speed, lack of concentration, not keeping the right distance between vehicles, not being observant of other road users, maybe even having the music on too loud (or earphones on) or on the cell phone.

Speed Bumps cause more polution in the atmosphere. Drivers have to slow down and the accelerate causing more fumes to be released. Speed bumbs do help but they are still a hazard to our envirnment. Speed limit signs should be erected along the roadsides and harsh penalties should be enforced for persons who violate them.

ultimate answer......speeding cameras....and you get your ticket in the mail....either pay of face penalties(points) the more points you get the more money your insurance would be at the end of the month. even to rent a vehicle would be expensive....so there you go....usually when people get hit in the pocket they tend to listen and abide by the rules..no one has money to throw away on traffic tickets

"get your ticket in the mail"....not exactly a reliable delivery service. When do you impose the penalties, after a month (when it might have arrived), 6 months (when it's a bit more likely to have arrived), a year (still quite likely to be lost somewhere)??

How many people have to die or get injured? Drivers are selfish who tailgate at a high speed, not giving the car in front a chance to stop, turn or let anyone cross the street. I have witnessed this many times and also coming around corners, they are in the other persons lane with a speed that would scare you half to death. If I was a cop I would have given out so many tickets with all the illegal driving I have seen and that includes cell phone use. Why can't the police get off their lazy behinds and start enforcing the laws. There was a police car in front of me who had to witness what I did and they did NOTHING! I'm SICK OF IT!
