Barber placed on 60K bail for allegedly beating wife on RT ferry dock
Prosecuting for the Crown was Garcia Kirt Kelly while representing the defendant was attorney at law Dave Marshall.
The case was adjudicated over by Magistrate Ayana Baptiste-DaBreo.
In addition to being placed on bail, Roberts was mandated to attend counselling sessions with Family Support Network Executive Director Dr Sylvia M. Simmonds. He was also ordered not to engage in any contact with the virtual complainant and any contact with the one child they have together must take place through the involvement of a third party.
It was on Wednesday November 11 that the virtual complainant allegedly endured a beating at the hands of the defendant who in an apparent jealous fit attacked her while she was standing in line at the Road Town ferry dock waiting to catch the ferry back to Virgin Gorda following her attendance at a work-related conference in Tortola.
Roberts was believed to have acted in a jealous rage after accusing the virtual complainant of having been dropped off by someone to the ferry dock, insinuating that she was being unfaithful to him.
The court heard that Roberts was in court before on a similar charge involving the same virtual complainant after having breached a protection order. He had in the past completed a Partnership for Peace programme as part of his rehabilitation.
According to the Prosecutor, the virtual complainant reported receiving threatening text messages from the defendant who has also been said to be making calls to the virtual complainant’s place of employment.
The case continues on February 5, 2016.

I admired Ms St****s from time we going school. She was the All American Girl - Only living in the Caribbean - She had Poise, Truck Loads of talent, BRAINS, and Beauty !!!! I neverrrr in a Million years thought it would have been this rough !!! I always saw her around, but never knew is this whats going on !!!! I truely Saddened of this behaviour of Mr *****. I thought these things just happened in the movies.
