4 BVIslanders blazing trail on VI Idol
Speaking with Virgin Islands News Online, judge on the competition Mr Kamau A. Georges said that Monique Chapdelaine gave the best performance of the night. He however said that the compeitition is far from over.
According to Georges, Chapdelaine was not the only one who gave a good account of themselves, as the three other Virgin Islanders present in the competition also performed well thus far.
They are Glendon D. Lamothe a.k.a. Njar, Alysha Lewis and Dwayne Frett. They, together with Chapdelaine, have made it to the finals of the show.
Georges said too that the four will also be shooting a reality TV show as part of the competition.
“They are going to be taking part in a reality TV show between now and August 23. The final showcase is on August 23 but between now and August 23, they are going to be filming a reality TV show,” said Georges when contacted.
Writing on his Facebook page, Georges said, “Big shout out to all the finalists of the VI idol competition this weekend. I was honoured to be a judge on a distinguished panel and proud to see that 4 artists representing the BVI made it to the finals and got an opportunity to be a part of the VI idol reality TV show.
"Congrats to BVI artists Monique Chapdelaine with the highest score of the evening. Also congrats to Dicxy Njar Lamothe, Alysha Harmony Lewis and future youtube sensation Dwayne Frett with the most original and entertaining performance of the night. You're all making the BVI proud!!!”
According to the VI-Idol website, the winner gets up to $5,000 Cash, a Single Deal with Label and Distribution (LP Records / Major Label), will star in the new Voices of the Islands Reality Show, will enjoy Celebrity features and opening performance dates, will get a Music Video, will get a round trip to USA (City/State to be announced) with accommodations and Limousine service, will get Platinum Studio Single Recordings (2 – 3 Songs), Platinum Producer Assistance, Grammy Winning Song Writer Assistance and Online and Industry Marketing.
